Asset Manager - Solar - Spain Madrid
A unique opportunity to join a leading renewable energy and infrastructure investment fund. With a few billion £'s worth of assets under management they are one of the largest players in European Solar. This position will be based in their Madrid office and will include the oversight of the technical and commercial performance of the Spanish Solar portfolio with a view to optimizing cash flows and investment value on behalf of clients.
This role offers an individual the opportunity to make a positive and material impact to the business – there is scope for someone to personalise the job and introduce process improvements, risk and management frameworks.The Role Technical Asset Management Be able to complete site visits to ensure installations meet the correct quality, technical specifications and built to the agreed design Be able to review and comment on plant lay-outs, designs and yield calculations Assist during commissioning and PAC process. Oversight of response to non-routine operational issues occurring at sites (material equipment failure etc) with the aim of maximising production across the portfolio Oversight contract management – ensuring that all services required by the O&M or EPC contracts are actioned accordingly Responsible of the negotiation of O&M contracts. Follow up daily performance of the assets Negotiation of commercial settlements to contractual disputes Management of EPC claims, negotiation with EPCs following commissioning Management of insurance claims processing Liaising with Grid operator to manage incidents and scheduled down time Good understanding of sub-station design, grid cable routes, high level design and cost estimations Work with finance team managing processes around bonds and cash retention. Stakeholder Management: Building and managing relationships with external stakeholder and key counterparties responsible for the operation of the projects across the portfolio with a view to achieving the best commercial outcomes for the equity investors. These counterparties range from EPC contractors and O&M contractors to the Owner’s Engineer, Debt Providers, PPA Offtakers, Health & Safety Advisers, external legal counsel and grid operators. With input from the Senior Investment Manager and Technical Portfolio Managers holding O&M contractors accountable for the performance of projects in operations within the constraints of the O&M contract (KPI monitoring, asset optimisation, punch list close out, etc.). Support with any matters arising from Debt provision Accounts and Compliance: Co-ordinating with the London Portfolio Management team to have financial statements prepared for each Project SPV; Co-ordinating payments from project accounts as required (with assistance from London and locally); Ensuring the compliance of the power purchase agreements and the reporting and invoicing process. Managing insurance policies. Ensuring insurance regime compliance. Risk awareness and mindset would be ideal, i.e. the ability to identify risks and put in place effective mitigants.

Excellent opportunity to join a leading renewable energy infrastructure fund as they grow their European investment team.
The fund are headquartered in London but have recently set up their Spanish operation in Madrid.
The infrastructure team are looking to add several Associate's to the existing team; who will support the Directors in the valuation, structuring and execution of renewable energy transactions across Europe and beyond. This is a deal execution focused role, with little to no asset management. Excellent financial modelling skills required,
THE ROLE:The role’s primary focus will be on project due diligence, valuation modelling and project financing for investments made in wind and solar PV assets in the target markets Integral part of the Investment Team on all project matters relating to the investment, financing and financial performance of any wind projects including project finance; project procurement; construction management & valuation Responsible for all analytical work related to assigned projects including; Support the team members on identification of renewable projects and assessment of opportunities across the target markets Support the preparation of investment cases to be brought to the internal investment committee; To assist in the execution of acquisitions or project financings, to support the negotiation of construction & operational contracts, all leading to financial close; construction and long term operation of the assets MUST be a native spanish speaker and fluent in English
2-4 years relevant project finance experience within energy / infrastructure
Consultancy, modelling investment banking, project finance or equity investment background
Fluency in second language is preferable, in particular Spanish
Asset Manager New Madrid
Job description Organizing and completing all Asset Management activities of existing solar farms and additional solar farms as they are commissioned. Supervision and management of all relevant contracts (Asset Management / O&M, etc.), funding agreements, interconnection agreements. Ensuring on-going compliance with all law, legislative requirements in relation to the operation of the solar farms. Reporting on Asset Management activities and O&M services performance by the contractors; Managing and maintaining good relationships with authorities, the community and the owners; Participating and / or leading site visits and inspections involving third parties including operators and contractors; Providing Asset Management inputs for preparing OPEX estimations; Developing Scope of Works for AM and supervision for new projects; Support the development team in the development phase of the Project with Asset Management and OPEX estimation for tender preparations. Deep involvement in re-finance/ selling process
Qualifications Ideally you will have had some exposure to asset management of large infrastructure projects with experience in solar and wind generating system preferred. At least 2 years of experience in large scale renewable assets, as AM or O&M manager Experience in working in an international environment Experience in Technical aspects of re-financing and selling process Relevant Engineering Qualification Good understanding of Asset Management methodologies O&M knowledge of solar and/ or wind plants/installations would also be a benefit. Strong understanding of contracts including management and reporting; Outstanding communication skills; Strong MS EXCEL and IT skills; Critical eye for all compliance and safety; Strong commercial and negotiation skills; Good understanding of Electrical systems; Be self directed and a good team player
